Zulcan Fighting Championship 2 to Feature Fighters from Seven Countries

The second edition of the Zulcan Fighting Championship (ZFC), titled “ZFC 2: Pride of Bangladesh”, will be held on Friday at the Zulcan Indoor Arena at Bashundhara Sports City in Dhaka.

Organised by Tanvir Bashundhara Group (TBG), the international combat sports tournament will feature fighters from seven countries, including Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, the United States, Iran and Malaysia.

The tournament was officially announced at a press conference at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Thursday. International fighters from the participating countries attended the event, where the fighters completed their official weigh-ins before facing their respective opponents.

Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan, managing director of Tanvir Bashundhara Group, was also present at the press conference.

Following the successful first edition, “ZFC 1: The Takeover”, held in April, this year's event will feature 10 bouts, including five title fights.

One of the main attractions will be a bare-knuckle boxing bout, being held in Bangladesh for the first time, according to the organisers. The three-round fight will see US fighter Will Chope take on Iran's Mostafa Ashouri.

The main event will feature a five-round WMO Asia Muay Thai title fight between Bangladesh's Masjidul Reza Omio and Thailand's Thanapat Thittham.

The co-main event will be a six-round ZFC Boxing title fight between Bangladesh's Sur Krishna Chakma and Indonesia's Kundimang.

Other title bouts will see Bangladesh's Muhammad Rashid face Malaysia's ErwandI Kalai for the ZFC Muay Thai title, while Singapore's Sean Rafael Sani will take on Bangladesh's Sirajul Rabbi for the ZFC Boxing title.

The other bouts include a professional MMA contest between Bangladesh's Manzur Alam and Indonesia's Philipus Ranga.

In women's professional boxing, Sanjida Jannat will face Malaysia's Meredy Michael in a six-round bout.

Other professional boxing bouts will see Bangladesh's Rakib Hossain take on Indonesia's Dedi Imprax, while Gonadan Chakma will face Singapore's Donovan McIntyre.

The opening bout of the day will be a women's semi-pro Muay Thai contest between Gazi Arnaz and Shampa Islam.

All bouts, except the women's professional boxing contest, will have three-minute rounds. The main event will have a two-minute break between rounds, while other bouts will have one-minute breaks.

TBG said the Zulcan Indoor Arena and the tournament were established to provide young Bangladeshi fighters with an international platform and create opportunities for them to compete on the global combat sports stage.
